The Mystery of History's Audio Formats

Welcome to the world of Audio Books! Since its first publication in 2002, students of all ages have enjoyed The Mystery of History, the award winning series by Linda Lacour Hobar. Now, through The Mystery of History Audio Books (or downloadable MP3 files), you can listen to the professionally recorded stories through the voice of the author.

With accompanying text in hand, you can read right alongLinda recording at JT's studio. with Linda as she breathes life into the stories. Without the text, you can relax and enjoy Linda’s personable writing style. Younger Students can draw or color as they learn while Older Students can take notes for further discussion. With a background track of beautiful, inspiring music, you’ll feel you are right there with the author traveling through ancient, medieval, and Renaissance times. (Tracks without music are now available too!) At co-op, in the car, over lunch, before bed, or as an integral part of your school day – there are endless ways for all ages to benefit from this listening library of world history. (These audio CDs contain narrated lessons only and do not include pretests, activities, quizzes, exercises or similar items found in the textbooks.)

  • Spanning “Creation to the Resurrection”, Volume I (a 10 CD set) covers the nations of China, Egypt, Greece, India, Israel, Persia, Rome, and more in 108 lively lessons. Of great significance, Volume I uniquely weaves “Bible history” and “world history” together in a fresh and meaningful way.

  • Covering “The Early Church and the Middle Ages”, Volume II (a 12 CD set) encompasses the medieval world of both the east and the west in 84 dynamic lessons. Spanning AD 30-1460, this volume includes Vikings, villains, castles, crusades, samurai, shoguns, Dante, Chaucer, and much more.

  • Volumes III, “The Renaissance, Reformation, and Growth of Nations” is currently in production. This glittering time period includes the timeless works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael as well as stories of Ferdinand Magellan, Martin Luther, Elizabeth I, Isaac Newton, and much more. At present, each quarter will be released as it is completed.
